evaluation results
Our feedback was very positive and everyone new the genre we were going for and liked he opening credits. For the preliminary task most people noted that they liked the use of camera angle on the high angle shot because it fitted in with the scene. we were happy with our feedback and were also given some information on how we could improve on our overall work which we agreed with.

powerpoint
This is the text from our Presentation. We couldnt put the powerpoint onto blogger becuase it didnt work so we had to paste the text...:
The waiting room . . .
This film is a McCams production which is based on the life of a young girl going through therapy due to an incident that isn’t discussed.
She spends most of her time going to the therapist in order for them to find out what happened.
Her therapist (Dr Glynn) becomes quite close with her Patients; we see at the end of the clip that a second patient runs into the room expecting Dr Glynn to deal with her problems at that moment. Her patients become very dependant on her. Will this cause problems for Dr Glynn…?
Our preliminary task is aimed at the age group of 20-50. This is because it is quite a serious film but does contain some comedy. However, other age groups might be interested in it and there would be no age barrier, it would be universal.
During the process of making the preliminary task it has helped us to work with different camera angles such as the high angle shot, pan shot and shot reverse shot. We found the shot reverse shot the most challenging to do, this is because we had to film the entire scene twice so that when it came to editing we could cut all of it together, it was quite hard to make sure that everything was the same both times because if there is as sudden change between two shots then it will be noticeable.
It is set in a therapists office which we used a library, this Is because we thought that the setting looked as though it could have been one. This is because of all the books and seating area.
Lets take a look at the clip…
Command.
Forms and conventions.
For our main task we decided to look at Mean Girls. This linked to our theme because of it being set in a high school. Hollie and I watched Mean girls in order to see the entire mise en scene of the film in order to know what things we need to include. We realised that mean girls has the three typical girls who rule the school just like ours, so, we wanted to see how this was put across in the film.
We noticed in the film that the characters were wearing typical teenage clothes which were not necessarily fitting to England since it is an American film. So, we made sure the characters wore something that they would most probably wear everyday.
Since our film was going to be a teen/comedy we had to cast young teenagers and base the film in the school with everyday teenage problems.
The film is actually set in a school. So everything is suited to the theme of the film.
Representation of social groups.
In our film we focused on teenagers. They were represented in different ways. This is because we had the main "mean" girl and her two followers, who weren't as bad as they come across because "Jessie" actually helps the girl who gets hurt by "Danielle" and then "Isobel" just follows everything which Danielle does.
Distribution.
We think that is would be best for a mainstream company to distribute our film. This is because our film is best suited to teenagers but can be relevant to other ages too. Also, our storyline is quite easy to grasp so it doesn’t involve too much thinking about it and it is just to be enjoyed rather than having to figure it out.
A distribution company which we think would be relevant for our film would be PARAMOUNT PICTURES. This is because they previously distributed "Mean girls" which is a similar genre to ours. We looked at the advertising for mean girls which worked out well because the U.S. Box Office got:$86,049,418. It is a well known film and is very popular, which means this could work for our film.
Target audience…
Teenagers: our target audience would be teenagers because the film is set in a school and is focussed on teegae life. People from this age group can then relate to the film with aspects of their life and the comedy in the film would be more suited to this age group. However, although is is focussed on teenagers, it is suitable for all age groups and we believe that any age group could enjoy it.
Equipment.
Whilst making both of our tasks we learnt how to use all the camera equipment and editing programme.
We went to a place called CLC which teaches you how to use adobe premiere pro( an editing programme) this helped us to know how to use all aspects of the programme to make our editing better.
All of our equipment and materials were borrowed, so we had no expense other than buying DV tapes.
As we went along with our editing we also discovered other things on the programme which helped us make our film better.

This is the script for the main task which doesn't have any dialogue but it has all the stage directions.
Main Task: COMMAND.
IN HIGH SCHOOL. DAY TIME.
DANIELLE is opening her locker to reveal “Foundations presents” non-diagetic music is playing in the background. DANIELLE then goes down the corridor into another room to reveal ISOBEL who is writing on a piece of paper at a desk, ISOBEL moves to reveal “A McCams Production”. ISOBEL runs to DANIELLE and they hug.
ISOBEL and DANIELLE go outside the classroom and meet JESSIE. All three characters walk down the corridor to the hall. ISOBEL and JESSIE push open the hall doors. Meanwhile, CIARA (the loser) is in front of the doors picking up things that she dropped. When ISOBEL and JESSIE push open the doors for DANIELLE, CIARA gets knocked to the ground. Music stops. DANIELLE walks into the hall laughs and steps over CIARA. Music stops. Just laughing. ISOBEL follows DANIELLE, whilst JESSIE goes to help CIARA and gets called by DANIELLE to follow her.
FRANCESCA goes into the toilets holding her face because she has been hit by one of the girls. Music starts as FRANCESCA starts putting make-up on to hide the bruise.

finishing
Today Hollie and i completed all of our filming and editing(including adding the background music) for both tasks and rendered them. We then started working on our presentation to show to everyone. We organised a slide show and wrote a questionnaire for everyone to fill out which you will find below. In the slide show we included stills like shown in the previous blog and information about our film.
What is your overall opinion on both clips?________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
What genre would you say the main task (Command.) is?____________________________________________________________________________________________
What did you think of the titles in“Command”?_________ ______________________________________________________________________________________________
Did you think that the mise en scene in both clips was suited to the type of film?______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
In the preliminary task, was the 180 degree rule followed and were there different types of shots?_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

editing

Hollie and I had filmed our Preliminary task and today we edited it. We included shot reverse shot and match on action whilst following the 180 degree rule. we have finished this task and are happy with the outcome. These are some examples of our shot reverse shot. When editing we had to keep razoring it to make it go from one side to the other(shot reverse shot). To make this work in the first place we filmed the scene twice from different directions.
